Observations on the localization of Philophthalmus hegeneri (Trematoda) in the orbit of the domestic chick were made. Within one week postinfection, approximately 50% of the recovered flukes were in the Harderian gland, Harderian duct and vestibule, and the remainder on nictitating membranes. Within 2 to 3 week post-infection most flukes were on nictitating membranes. A consistent directional orientation of flukes towards the Harderian gland was not observed. Observations reported herein suggest significant microhabitat differences between this fluke and the related species, P. megalurus.
